Is anybody out there.

The cries of someone far from reach,

Stretching a hand feeble and frail too far to reach,

Overshadowed by their stench and tossed aside as wretch.

Bleeding out in silence,

Calling out to your conscience,

Is anybody out there.

Under your care, all are scattered,

Depriving and denying, their hopes you’ve shattered,

With promises frail with shrouds of lies, your words have quivered and oaths wavered.

Bleeding out in silence,

Calling out to your conscience,

Is anybody out there.

The dreams you’ve torched with a single touch,

Their screams you’ve watched from the confines of so much,

A million spent in vain, a billion more causing pain.

Bleeding out in silence,

Calling out to your conscience,

Is anybody out there.

Unchecked greed and violence,

So much wealth, power, and providence,

Vainly engineered towards pain, like a rot causing decay and stealing life away.

Bleeding out in silence,

Calling out to your conscience,

Is anybody out there.

If only you would heed that call,

Speaking of the many pains you’ve caused,

Trying to restrain, so you can refrain before all is lost.

Bleeding out in silence,

Calling out to your conscience,

Is anybody out there.

Emmalase.
