Gone and back

And I looked, and I saw, and behold, a creature like no other, clothed in fire, over ten feet tall, and on its head, a crown of horns. As it moved, it devoured all in its path, leaving behind a trial of blaze and death, an offspring of pain and chaos.

As it approached, I felt my skin melt off my flesh, as though I was engulfed in its flames. My feet, rooted to the ground, unable to move, I looked into its eyes as it towered over me, and saw nothing, dark as the heart of night. “I have come for you” it said, in a tongue I shouldn’t understand, but for some incomprehensible reason, I did.

I tried praying, tried calling for help, but terror seized my voice, and fear stole the words from my mouth. Is this the end of me, I pondered. What have i done to deserve such a monstrous fate. A young life, to be snatched by the fiery hands of death.

But amidst the chaos came another creature, in the form of a man. He radiated a bright light, that I couldn’t behold his face. A light so bright, that it gave life to all it touched that was dead, driving the fiery beast back into the abyss from whence it came.

And I opened my eyes, and I heard someone say ” we almost lost him, stay with us”.
