If only we could remain children…

If only we could remain children, retain our innocence and ignorance of the looming corruption that comes with knowledge.

If only we could remain children, bearing that smile or frown that depicts our true emotions, not faking or pretending.

If only we could remain children, with our minds fine like the purest of water, clean and transparent, unspoilt by hate malice and jealousy.

If only we could remain children, untainted by the evil and insanity of this world, safe from the curse of knowledge, forever blinded to the horrors lurking in the shadows.

If only we could remain children, loved and cherished by all, at one with nature we would be, loved and treasured by her, rather than incurring her wrath.
