He doesn’t seem to find that smile anymore, seems to have forgotten the feeling of peace it brings.
The thought of her fuels his resolve, causing him to endure.
Through rough edges and uneven plains, bracing the terrors of the night the storm brings,
Just so he could once again get to her,
Just so he could behold that smile once again.
But then he saw her face, and the smile was lost,
Bringing him back to that lonely place he felt was lost.
For he realized it was stolen and that he was the cause.
Uncaring gestures and faint words unexpected,
Dimming the flame burning inside him.
How could he have known, coming sooner could cause such a gloom.
Who knew intentions so pure could cause such pain.
Emmalase.
