
He gazed into the abyss and blinked,
And fear coursed like waves through his veins, sprouting bumps from his skin.
Though a warrior brave and bold, he was just a man.
The dark is no man’s home,
For men dread what they can’t see, and are petrified by what they can’t understand.
Only a few have learned to cast their shadow in the dark,
Yet, even so, they dare not wander in the vastness of its void.
Cos the fear of shadows lurking in the dark always lingers.
