Why are you like this… a short story.

She glared at him with an intense look and asked, “Why are you like this?”

He was silent for a while and replied,

“I don’t know how not to be uptight.

I don’t know how not to be disciplined.

I don’t know how not to be reserved.

I only answer when I am asked.

I only speak when I truly feel the need to,

And I only ask when I really need to.

You might not be wrong when you call me proud, cos I perceive many acts as base and beneath me.

You might not be wrong when you call me anti-social, cos I am not eager to make friends or be friendly, I just let it happen.

When you sum up all my traits and characteristics, most would define me as cold and odd.

But beneath all these, I love and care so much, especially for those dear to me.”
