Importance of eating Avocado

Avocado is a fruit found in most countries and has been researched to be an outstanding good source of fatty acids. It contains monounsaturated fatty acids (Mostly oleic acid) with majority of its calories coming from fat.
Avocado aids in the prevention of heart diseases such as high blood pressure. This fruit is rich in potassium which is a key element needed by the mammalian cells Sodium-Potassium pump. This biological reaction is catalysed by the enzyme Sodium-Potassium ATpase, in which for every molecule of ATP used, three sodium ions are exported out of the cell and two potassium ions are imported into the cell.

Scientifically, its been proven that avocado has antiinflammatory properties, this is because of the monounsaturated fats, phytosterols, vitamins E and C, and carotenoids.

This unique fruit also helps prevent and combat cancer, research has it that a good consumption of folate from food tends to protect against stomach, pancreatic, colon and even cervical cancers. This is because it is believed by researchers that folate protects the cells against undesirable mutations in DNA and RNA during cell division. It also aids great vision, prevents osteoporosis, and other forms of diseases.
